The trip to California was so much fun. My parents and I went down to visit my brother and his wife in San Jose California. I wish Kevin and Ethan could have gone with me but maybe next time. The flight down was pretty nice. Getting into the airport the weather was nice but not as nice as we had expected but hey it beats Idaho weather any day of the week. So we stayed for three days and got to do lots of fun things. Like experiencing my brothers wonderful driving skills. No hes not that bad but he is my brother so natural as a younger sister I get to poke fun at him.
Our first adventure was up this very crazy roller coaster of a road with whiplash corners. On this road was a multitude of various bikers. At the top was a biker bar were we had lunch. Then when we came down we went over to the coast line and saw the ocean for the first time. After that fun drive we went for a wine tasting event which wasn't were anyone would have expected it to be. Except for me I knew it was in a warehouse and not a vineyard because I looked it up in great detail. Yet as the saying goes "if you don't ask I wont tell". So besides my dad and I who don't drink wine the rest of the group seemed to have some fun tasting wine, foods and chocolate.
Our second day of adventuring lead us to San Francisco. Home of the Golden Gate Bridge and my favorite Pier 39. Well we didn't cross the bridge but we stopped and got to take some great pictures of it in the wonderful blustering wind. About half the time you would swear one wrong step and the wind would take you out to sea. So then we got in the big long line of cars to get to the pier. Last time I was there was in high school for a band trip. Had fun then and still had fun this time. We ate lunch, saw the sea lions, light house's, boats ect. We walked the whole pier just looking at every thing. My dad and I did get to go on one of the old war ships used at sea. Wow its a lot smaller then it looks. We went down into the engine room and dang that is one job I wouldn't want at sea. The stairs down were so narrow and I swear slanted at a 80 degree angle. One false move and down you go. After the ship we went into various shops on our way back to the car and to home.
Third day of fun was full of fun. This was our shopping day at the big mall. Wow it was big. I did get a few things mostly for my boy. Ya he got his California look he would blend in. After shopping we went to the Winchester House. They aren't kidding when they say this house is beautiful but odd at the same time. When you first get there you take a tour with a guide and well the rules for the tour were a little um strict. You couldn't take pictures, no cell phones on, walk were she walked, no touching, gum, food, drink heck I'm not sure you were aloud to sneeze. Any way if you got caught doing anything people were watching you and you would be removed. thank goodness no one did anything bad in our group. If you haven't heard of the Winchester house I suggest you go look it up the history of the house and Sarah Winchester is just way to interesting. Our last fun thing of the day was miniature golfing. I personal haven't ever gone normal golfing or miniature golfing and well I'm not quiting my day job, but I had lots of fun.
So after our fun filled days it was back to reality home life. We had lots of fun and I can't wait to go back some time with my family. The only bad thing was the landing into Moscow/Pullman Airport were we had the great pleasure of landing in the soon to be thunder storm. Lots of joyfully bouncy turbulance. It was a great trip but glad to be back with my boys. They are the BEST thing ever. I would do anything for them like wash there clothes and make them dinner. I would even rub there feet and shower them with kisses. Kevin is the great husband ever. He can do no wrong. I wish I would have read this after Kevin revised it.
