Fun in the Sun
Today was a fun day. We took Ethan to the Aquatic center for the first time this year. Ethan's initial thought was you are not getting me in that water. He stood in it up to his ankles then he wouldn't willingly walk in any further. So being me i just picked him up and carried him out to the 3' end and got on my knees so he was submerged up to his chest in water. He wasn't to sure at first but once we started moving around i finally got him to stop clinging. By the end of our stay i was able to get him to face me and while only holding on to my shoulders he was floating on his tummy doing kicks. For those who know Ethan that is a huge step in the unstable world for him. Although once daddy got in the water it was back to being clingy. What can you do. All in all we had fun and Ethan got to play in the water and experience the different functions of all the water feature's.

"Call for Designs"
Ow my goodness ok I was clicking through my usual websites and some thing told me i needed to go to that Painted Ponies website. Well i did and low and behold there is a contest for artists to design a painted pony for get this Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede. Ya i know this isn't really what i had in mind for my pony but the winning pony gets to have it turned into a 2' pony, displayed at the stampede in Tennessee annddd that person gets a blue ribbon of distinction, certificate of excellence, unprecedented promotional opportunities, and all of the benefits and such that come from being an official Trail of Painted Ponies artist. Ok how awesome is that don't forget that ponies design stays with the collection forever. So with my new thinking cap on I have until September 1st to see if i can come up with a Pony designed with excitement, patriotism and pageantry. So in other words big and flashy just like Dolly herself. Wish me luck.

Painted Pony
Ok so some time ago I got the most awesome gift for mothers day. A paint it yourself Painted Pony. Since i received this great gift my mind has been loaded with so many wonderful ideas that i haven't been able to get them out until today. So grabbing my art supplies brush in hand i started painting. While i still don't have a direct thought about what the outcome might be i have a base down. Now my main idea was to go for an Asian theme but I am still leaning toward a contemporary flower idea. Yet who knows, my mind works in mysterious ways and I could end up with an airplane painted across it. So here is a picture of what i have so far though i think i might tone it down with some more beige.
For those that don't know what a Painted Pony is here are three that i currently own.

Birthday & Fireworks
Ok so yeah! I turned one more year older this last frday but I didnt feel any olderdue to my very lovong 3 year old son. Here is the situaton. Thursday night kevin took my out to dinner and when we got home i was trying on on my new dress that Kevin got me for my birthday. Ethan was watching TV when i came out to show Kevin that the dress was to big (which also made me happy). Well Ethan heard me talk so he turned to look at me and with the most indescribable, joyous look on his face he blurts out a wonderful "WOW". I just about melted right there. The kid made me feel like number one and I didn't care how old i was turning.

As usual for the fourth we went camping in Elk River nd that was a cold night. I don't remember it being so cold at night before, but hey lots of cuddling is fine. The fireworks were said to be something spectacular due to the towns 100 year celebration. However they seemed to fall short of the hype in my opinion. I still liked them but it seemed there wasn't as much as in the years past. Hmmm oh well. Ethan got to ride the four wheeler all over the property. He was having so much fun. every timme you turned around it seemed like he was sitting on the four wheeler waiting for someone to start it an take him for a ride. All in all we had a blast. My birthday was great and the camping was fun.
